NICOLETTA CERA

Nicoletta Cera, Psychologist, Ph.D in Functional Neuroimaging, Researcher at CPUP (Center of Psychology of University of Porto).

She is graduate in Psychology, quoted 110/110 cum laude at University “G. d’Annunzio” of Chieti and received her Ph.D in 2011 in “Functional Neuroimaging: from cells to systems –XXIII cycle” .

Her topics of interest varied from the cerebral bases of male sexual arousal, psychogenic erectile dysfunction, to aging and related pathologies such as Mild Cognitive Impairment, Resting state fMRI and EEG. Moreover, she is interested in multimodal functional neuroimaging with fMRI and about the integration between eye movements and other psychophysiological signal with the BOLD signal. Since obtained her Ph. D, she published 20 papers on peer review international and national journals.

She has expertise in the use of the following softwares: SPM/VBM; BrainVoyager Qx ; R; SPSS; Acknowledge; Statistica; E-prime; SuperLab; Matlab (Basic User); FreeSurfer; FSL; mricron; Python (basic User). She participated in 30 national (Italian) and international congresses as poster presenters and as oral communication authors. She was invited two times as keynote speaker in national congresses, and received three awards.  She collaborated with the chair of Psychometrics at University “G. d’Annunzio” of Chieti, and she is co responsible, since 2019, of the chair of Psychology of Memory, at Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences at University of Porto Since July 2018, she is the principal investigator of the project NEUROTHERMOSEX (NORTE-01-0145-FEDER 30520) founded by Portuguese Foundation for the Science and Technology (FCT), in which the principal interest is the role played by oxytocin in the human sexual behaviour.
